Terms & Conditions for attendance of Private Lessons

PLEASE NOTE: YOUR PAYMENT SECURES YOUR BOOKING.

Kindly Whatsapp us on 081 408 3912 to check your available times against what we have available before booking. We update our schedule regularly, however slots are often changed on short notice. 

The studio has very limited time slots available for private sessions - therefor, NO DATES & TIMES WILL BE RESERVED WITHOUT YOUR PAYMENT.

Lessons cancelled on the day - for any reason whatsoever, including illness, Covid infections, exposure etc - are forfeited. We are a business, selling our time + expertise, so if you do not pitch or cancel the lesson on the day, we cannot sell that time slot on  short notice.  Please view your booking the same way you would buying tickets to an event. 

If you bought a pack of lessons or hours, the time will simply be deducted in the event that you cancel or do not pitch.  

Duration of lessons:

Should you go over time in order to finish a particular process, the time gone over the amount booked will be deducted from you total hours booked.

If you arrive late, the lesson time is calculated from when you were supposed to start, not when you arrive. 

Our private lessons are not meant to be a dressmaking, pattern drafting or sewing service for the attendee. The lessons are intended for instruction of sewing techniques as the limited time available makes it impossible to cut make and trim any garment. If you require pattern drafting or other services, kindly contact the studio for a quote on these services.

We do not draft patterns of existing garments for the purposes of you learning how to sew. Proper pattern drafting takes time & should you bring a garment to be copied, this will consume too much of your available lesson time. Should you wish to have a pattern made of a garment, kindly email us for a quote on the pattern making services.

We do however offer a type of private pattern making lessons,  specifically for drafting a pattern based on something you like, or to create a pattern that fits you specifically, or from an existing garment. This typically take longer than 90 minutes,  so have created a lesson category specifically for this.  We also suggest this type of lesson for people who have some knowledge of pattern making terminology or who have attended our Pattern Making course modules.  Please inform us regarding the purpose of your lesson if it falls under this category so we can book the appropriate person with pattern making expertise.  Kindly consult the e-shoppe for this kind of private lesson here.

Fabric and equipment:

We will provide sample notions, threads & sample fabric, but you should provide your own project materials as well as threads for specific projects you would like to make.

Project fabrics and threads are not included in your fee. 

We do not provide a shopping service for fabrics unfortunately. We will however provide suggestions for where you can purchase good quality fabric of various types suitable to your chosen projects. 

We will provide notes where applicable , but we recommend that you also take your own notes, as this aids the learning process. We will also provide short recap videos of some of the techniques that might be available on our members only portal.
