Welcome to The Sew Much Fun Studio
The Sew Much Fun Studio is an online (and offline) transformational home for sewing, textiles and fashion enthusiasts from anywhere in the world.
The Sew Much Fun Studio was founded in 2012 by Liezel Vukasovic, a self-starter serial entrepreneur who is passionate about edutainment (education and entertainment combined) and is bursting with energy and ideas to assist clients on their needle art journeys.
Our approach has always been a straight forward one:
We place a high emphasis on giving our customers the necessary tools to do things themselves, and to remove the need for a teacher, as soon as possible, on their sewing journey.
We do not believe in teaching by rote, where there is a high dependence on being told what to do, every step of the way. Rather, we believe in fostering a “big picture” understanding of the topics, so our course attendees can figure things out and solve problems for themselves, by applying insight from what they’ve already learned.
Learning to sew can seem very complex and difficult at 1st, but we provide tons of encouragement, giving our clients the confidence they need to initiate seemingly difficult tasks, at first, by trying to master sometimes complex processes, that may seem daunting to the uninitiated.
Our clients' results are our most important measure of our success.
From the start, we have focused on designing courses based on what our clients wanted. Each course has evolved, based on our clients’ needs and personal growth. Because, the truth is, learning to sew and make your own garments can be a mammoth task if you try it all by yourself, but it doesn't have to be; and we most certainly don't want it to be for anyone.
We believe that anyone can sew! And should, actually!
We all wear clothing, and there are in excess of 7 billion of us on this planet. Our use of (finite) resources to clothe ourselves is a very important issue to ponder. We, of course, want to help by shifting the approach from fast fashion, and the mass consumption of poor-quality clothing to one of consuming less, by investing in longer lasting garments, that do not add to the already huge problem of pollution that the fast fashion industry has contributed to.
This is essentially why we're providing fun and super informative courses for people from all walks of life to attend, which enable connecting with others, while learning and growing as individuals, at the same time.
The studio provides:
· A safe and welcoming space that enables people to come together, make friends and even network.
· Expert tutors that help and support every step of the way to make those “far-fetched” dreams come true.
· Courses that teach the most current and best techniques and equipment to use, to overcome any obstacles to achieving the best possible results.

Liezel has a vast background in everything from the performing & visual arts, to training, sound engineering, video editing, jewelry design, fashion design, marketing & business start-ups.
She started sewing as early as age 10.
By the age of 16, she was well on her way to already earning her own income, by way of flea-markets, and by early 20s supplied various boutiques and designers with costumes, as well as corsets for evening & bridal wear. Her costumes went on to be used in modelling agency photoshoots, and she even appeared in print newspaper articles.
In the 90s she was a regular fixture at fashion events in Cape Town, and produced costumes and corsets as a side-hustle, while studying music full-time. In her mid-20s, while enjoying a successful career as a performing pianist and clarinetist, she attended the (then known as) Cape Technicon, as she felt she needed the confidence of having attended a formal learning institution to be able to charge more for her designs, based on how industry professionals approached the industry.
In hindsight, this was a very necessary step in fulfilling her current aspirations of being able to understand the market better, and finding her own niche. She saw a need for a fun learning environment, while borrowing from both formal and informal learning methodologies, thus creating a unique way of imparting her skills.
Liezel’s love of sewing and fashion design however eventually engulfed her entire career, and in 2012 The Sew Much Fun Studio became a reality.
Her enthusiasm for developing new courses has been so gargantuan, that over a decade later, she’s still happily at it, and now helping others start their own sewing, textile art, garment construction and fashion design businesses too.
