Paper, notions + sample fabrics, needles and threads used in all the work included.
Please note, this is for domestic machines. We do not teach the use of industrial machines.
We also provide a sewing kit with tools you will need to sew at home if you have a sewing machine.
Also learn various techniques while on this course, aimed at hobby sewists: miscellaneous home décor items are included. You will also learn about patterns, minor alterations & taking proper measurements. With this course our focus is on the construction techniques involved with: skirts, dresses & sleeveless tops + shirts/blouses with collars, cuffs, packets, pockets etc. This is also our minimum sewing course requirement for attendance of further courses at the studio, such as Intermediate/Soft Tailoring courses, including Pants, Shirts & Jackets/Blazers modules.

Everything is provided for the course, you need not purchase anything, only have your own sewing machine and a good internet connection, access to ZOOM, Teams or Whatsapp Video calls.

We also sell ready pre-shrunken pieces of fabric for projects at our haberdashery.
We sell calico for projects should you like to make a sample range.
Your bubbly, vivacious, energetic teacher has + 30 years' experience in the field.
We're a 13 Years old Boutique Needle Arts School - specialising in fun, yet high-end outcomes, enrichment courses.
All our courses are aimed at beginners, including INTENSIVE Turbo.
We are specialists in the edutainment field, offering only the most current high-quality content. We are affiliated with German Fashion magazine publisher BURDA, and our course conveners are all Burda certified or holders of diplomas and degrees in design or fashion. We therefor are able to offer a great learning environment with state-of-the art support materials, video tutorials and sew much more.

We are not a tertiary education facility. As we are not offering a qualification, we have no formal application process for any of our courses - we welcome everyone as our courses are not NQF rated. We do however suggest that members attending our course are able to read and write English at minimum Grade 11 equivalent and for attendance of a pattern making course, a good level of mathematical literacy is highly recommended.

The Sew Much Fun Studio was founded in 2012 as a place to slow down, work with your hands, and reconnect with creativity in a meaningful way.

We are a private needle arts atelier and creative club, offering carefully curated making experiences for adults who value quality, focus, and time spent doing something real.

In a world that feels increasingly fast, abstract, and disconnected, we believe that making things by hand matters. Sewing is not just a skill , it’s a way to think, to process, and to feel grounded. For many people, it becomes therapy in disguise: quiet, absorbing, and deeply satisfying.

Our Way of Working

We are not a school or an academy.There are no exams, certificates, or formal structures to navigate.

Instead, we offer immersive, small-group experiences where people learn by doing, at their own pace, in a calm and well-equipped studio. The emphasis is on process, attention, and craftsmanship - not rushing, not proving, not performing.

This is a space for serious hobbying: for people who are curious, committed, and interested in developing real skills without pressure or pretence.
